New Additions to My Summer Bucket List —Steal These Picks

It’s no secret I live for New England summers. The long days, coastal drives, and timeless traditions, there are certain places and routines that just make the season for me. But this year, I’m feeling the pull to shake things up a bit.

While the old trusties still have a place on my list (because summer just isn’t summer without them), I’ve been craving some fresh inspiration and new adventures. I’ve already got a few spots and ideas lined up, and I can’t wait to share them.

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’ll drive for food. A two-hour day trip for a restaurant or specialty food store I’m excited about? Totally reasonable. That’s why Red’s Eats has been on my list forever. Their lobster rolls are legendary, and I’m looking forward to finally exploring that part of Maine.

Little AUK has been all over my Instagram feed, and I can’t wait to try it. It’s part of the ViewPoint Hotel which has been recognized by Travel + Leisure, Architectural Digest, and many other publications. They are typically closed on Saturdays for private weddings, so make sure to plan accordingly.

Despite having a less-than-green thumb, I’m still determined to grow a few herbs (and maybe even some edible flowers) in containers this summer. I’ve heard such great things about Churchill’s Home and Garden, and I can’t wait to wander the aisles for inspiration.

And then there’s La Rosa’s. I’m picturing a late summer lunch or a warm evening sitting outside in the heart of downtown Newburyport. I already know the quality and service will be top notch, they’ve got a great reputation in the restaurant world, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself.

Have you tried any of these? Or have a hidden gem I should add to the list? I’m all ears. Let’s make this the best summer yet.
