Despite doomsday headlines, it is not a horrible time to buy. Competition has slowed (for now) and more inventory is popping up daily. In fact, if you are thinking of buying in the near future it is a great time to start preparing. A lot of buyers have sidelined do to increasing mortgage rates, talks of recession, summer vacation plans, or burnout from a brutal Seller’s Market over the past two years. While we are trending to a more balanced market, it is important to know that in our area it is still a Seller’s Market. That means it is important to be prepared for when the right home comes on the market.

Between increasing mortgage rates, talks of recession, and just plain buyer burnout, we have seen the market shift from albeit a nonsensical seller’s market to something approaching a more balanced market.
